Mindfulness

Cultivating an increased presence of mind through mindfulness practices and meditation can be a useful endeavor. Research has shown that regular mindfulness and meditation practice can improve mood, help us regulate our emotional responses, reduce anxiety and symptoms of depression, improve outcomes for recovery from substance use issues, and impact numerous dimensions of physical well-being.

The resources below offer a small sampling of the available articles and books on the topic. As you start this process, try to keep an open mind and maintain the attitude that regular practice will increase your success and skillfulness. Give yourself time- your journey to recovery from NPD will benefit from the increase in self-awareness, tolerance to distress, and compassion that often comes through regular mindfulness pratice.
